Who builds MetaLoom

MetaLoom is written by one developer. Everything on this site — the server, the processing engine, the UI, the documentation and this page — comes from the same desk in Vienna.

Portrait of Johannes Schüth

Johannes Schüth

Developer · Vienna, Austria

Johannes’ main focus is Java backend development, though he does not mind devops or the occasional bit of frontend work. MetaLoom grew out of both halves of his day job — backend systems and, more recently, running machine-learning workloads in production — and out of a personal archive that had become too large to find anything in.

He recharges his coding battery with outdoor photography or by working on his IBM 5150. Besides retro computing his hobbies include electronics and astronomy.
